Research shows that air conditioning units reduce air humidity, thus promoting the growth of fungi. Generally speaking, this problem makes AC units harmful to human health. Individuals that live or work in places using air conditioning units are putting their lives at significant risk to the exposure of toxic fungi and spores that can potentially cause a variety health issues. Even consuming air within places where air conditioning units merely exist, though they may not be in use at the time, puts individuals at an increased risk of multiple health problems.

The pomegranate has proven positive in its ability to fight against dermatophytes. Dermatophytes are a group of fungi that usually cause skin, nail and hair infections and in worst case scenarios can be fatal. A type of phenolic compound called, punicalagin, were extracted from pomegranate fruits. When tested, the punicalagin was shown to fight dermatophytes.

Type 2 Diabetes suppresses or reduces, the strength of the body's immune system. Therefore people that have it both commonly have other chronic diseases or conditions at the same time. Though micronutrients are called such, because they are only needed in minuscule amounts, they are still crucial to bodily health. Their deficiency has been tied to many necrotizing infections, Candida albicans, and other fungus. It has been found that supplementing the diet with the B group vitamins, decreases the number of these infections.

Garlic
